For John and Dawn Velo, founders and co-owners of Netvelo, Inc., running an IT services business has never been about volume. It’s about relationships. After more than 35 years in the IT industry, John built Netvelo by doing what many technology providers talk about, but few consistently deliver: showing up, answering the phone, and taking responsibility for client outcomes, especially when it matters most.

Netvelo is a family-owned managed services provider supporting small and mid-sized businesses with networking, security, managed IT, and communications. And when communications are mission critical, Netvelo relies on a single trusted partner: FluentStream to deliver dependable, business-critical voice services.

From Growing Pains to a Better Partner Model

Before partnering with FluentStream, Netvelo worked with a large, nationally recognized VoIP provider. Early on, the experience was positive, with direct access to people, responsive support, and a sense of partnership. But as that provider scaled, the relationship changed dramatically.

“At first, I always had a person I could call,” John explained. “But as they got bigger, that went away. Then outages started happening, and I had no recourse. Clients were calling me, and I couldn’t get help.”

For Netvelo that lack of accountability was unacceptable. Their reputation depends on fast resolution and clear communication, especially when systems fail. When FluentStream was introduced, the difference was immediately clear. FluentStream extends a promise of U.S. based support, quick access to real humans committed to customer outcomes, and reliability Netvelo’s customers depend on.

Support That Feels Like an Extension of the Team

FluentStream’s support model quickly became one of the strongest reasons Netvelo moved its clients and stayed.

“What matters most to us is knowing that when something comes up, we’re going to hear back from a real person in the U.S. who understands the issue and takes ownership right away,” said Dawn Velo, Co-Founder and Co-Owner of Netvelo “That level of responsiveness is rare and it makes a huge difference for our clients.”

Unlike larger providers where tickets disappear into queues, Netvelo works with a consistent FluentStream support team, engineers they know by name and trust to follow issues through to resolution. That continuity accelerates resolution, reduces frustration, and builds trust on both sides.

“I never talked to the same person twice at our old provider,” John added. “With FluentStream, you build real relationships. That’s incredibly important to us.”

Delivering Security and Reliability Through Shared Values

Security and reliability are non-negotiable for Netvelo’s clients. Whether supporting manufacturers, transportation companies, HVAC providers, or professional services firms, Netvelo designs environments where uptime, data protection, and operational continuity come first, without compromise.

That mindset is one reason FluentStream views Netvelo as a model partner.

“Netvelo brings a security-first, reliability-driven approach to every client engagement,” said Marissa Barcza, GTM Leader at FluentStream. “They take the time to truly understand their customers’ environments and risks, and they hold their technology partners, including us, to the same high standard. Working with a partner who shares our customer-first philosophy makes it easier to deliver real, lasting value.”

That alignment ensures FluentStream and Netvelo operate as a unified front, protecting client operations while delivering dependable communications.

When Reliability Is Business-Critical

For Netvelo’s clients, communications outages aren’t minor inconveniences; they can shut down operations entirely. John shared multiple examples where FluentStream’s reliability directly protected customer businesses.

One client, a trucking company coordinating drivers across the country, experienced repeated outages with their previous provider. During one outage, drivers were left waiting for dispatch instructions that never came.

“That outage cost them real money,” John said. “FluentStream stepped in, got them up and running, and that was the end of the conversation.”

Another client, an HVAC company servicing schools and churches, missed emergency calls during cold weather due to phone failures.

“When phones don’t work, it’s devastating for small businesses,” John explained. “FluentStream understands that urgency because they treat every outage like a priority, not a ticket number.”

Small Enough to Know You and Big Enough to Support You

For Netvelo, FluentStream strikes a balance that many MSPs struggle to find in vendors.

“They’re small enough that we know the people,” John said. “But they’re big enough to support our clients properly, without sacrificing service quality.”

That balance matters deeply to Dawn as well.

“One of my biggest concerns with large providers is getting lost as they grow,” Dawn said. “With FluentStream, we’re not just an account number. They know us, they know our clients, and they care about making things right.”

A True Partner for MSP Growth

FluentStream has become a core part of Netvelo’s client strategy and recurring revenue model. Unlike one-time referral payouts, the partnership enables ongoing revenue while reinforcing long-term client trust.

More importantly, it gives Netvelo confidence.

“Based on the strong relationship we’ve built, we can walk into any client conversation knowing FluentStream will support us,” John said. “That’s huge.”

Advice for MSPs Considering FluentStream

When asked what advice he’d give to MSPs evaluating the FluentStream partner program, John didn’t hesitate.

“Trust the people they assign to you and listen to them. They know the product and how to support your clients. You’re not just a number here.”

Dawn echoed the sentiment.

“If you value responsiveness, clear communication and consistent, U.S.-based support, FluentStream is the kind of partner you want in your corner.”
